At 56 years old, Kerstin’s hobbies aren’t exactly what you’d expect from a typical grandmother. In fact, she’s developed a deep passion for body art, particularly tattoos. Today, her entire body is covered in intricate designs, a transformation she invested a significant amount of money in. However, her journey toward becoming a tattoo enthusiast didn’t begin until later in life.
Until 2015, Kerstin was actually a tattoo skeptic. But that all changed when she decided to try her first tattoo, an experience that completely altered her outlook. “I just wanted to try something new. We only live once, and I thought that at my age, I needed to do something truly meaningful,” she explained.
Since that pivotal moment, Kerstin has spent approximately 30,000 euros (around $32,000 USD) on tattoos alone. And the world has certainly taken notice. With over 190,000 followers on Instagram and millions of views on her TikTok videos, Kerstin has become a sensation in the tattoo community.
She confidently showcases her transformation, regularly posting pictures that highlight her full-body tattoos on Instagram. But just a decade ago, she looked completely different. Kerstin sometimes shares before-and-after images to show just how dramatic the change has been.
Based in Germany, Kerstin has vibrant rose tattoos adorning her legs, a striking leopard print on her shoulders, and several detailed portraits on her arms, among many other designs covering her body. These tattoos are just a glimpse of the artistry that now defines her entire look.
Kerstin absolutely adores her transformed look, describing it as, “When I look at myself in the mirror, I see a beautiful meadow full of flowers that one has to love.”
