A lively house party in the quiet Mountain View neighborhood near Hickory, North Carolina, turned devastating early Sunday morning, June 1, when gunfire erupted, leaving one person dead and eleven others wounded. The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office rushed to the scene on Walnut Acres Drive around 12:45 a.m., responding to frantic calls from the chaotic gathering.
About 100 guests—including families and children—were enjoying a pool party when multiple shots rang out, spreading fear and panic. The violence unfolded both in the front and back yards, spilling over into a nearby property, creating a sprawling crime scene that investigators are still meticulously combing through.
Tragically, one victim lost their life, while another remains in critical condition. Several others are currently hospitalized, battling injuries sustained in the attack. Authorities have confirmed the involvement of multiple firearms but have yet to identify suspects or make any arrests.
