Bodybuilder Jodi Vance is dead at the age of just 20 after suffering a massive heart attack while attending the Arnold Sports Festival in Ohio last week.
Vance, who also worked as a coach, was at the event to support her clients.
She is said to have fallen ill at the competition and was eventually taken to local hospital, Grant Medical, where she later passed away.
According to her family, severe dehydration forced her heart to stop working.
“Her heart stopped due to complications of severe dehydration. Despite all efforts by the hospital, they were unable to revive her,” they wrote, per TMZ Sports.
Vance’s family also urged everyone to put their health first while asking for privacy to grieve the death of their loved one.
“She was a beautiful person inside and out and she will be missed every single day. This was sudden and unexpected. Please give her family time to process this loss in peace. If anyone takes anything from this, please put your health first.”

Justin Mihaly, Vance’s coach, said the bodybuilder wasn’t booked for several months and shouldn’t have had any reason to take any dangerous supplements. But it appears he suspects she did.
“Jodi used two extremely hazardous substances to improve her physique — I assume just for the Arnold Expo — without my knowledge, my approval, without family’s knowledge, their approval,” he said via Instagram.
Vance, who hailed from Texas, had recently placed third in the Women’s Physique division of the 2024 NPC Battle of Texas.
TPS is extending condolences to Jodi’s family, her friends, and everyone else who held her dear.
